It’s very rare that I throw a stick bait that is not a Yamamoto, but today the water was very dirty and I had no black with blue flake GYs in the boat. I did have a pack of June Bug Yum Dinger’s, so I figured I’d give them a shot……..boy, am I glad I did! I ended up going through the entire pack and they were on fire! I am going to start throwing Dingers more often as they are cheaper, last longer and have a good action when wacky rigged. I would recommend sizing down on the VMC wacky saddle as compared to the GYs, because the dingers were sliding in the size 7.

Great hook to flip around grass patches and laydown with a creature or beaver-style bait. The fluoro bait keeper is tops and these hooks are very affordable. Hook does not bend out on 17-20# fluoro and the points stay sharp!

Could only fish a few hours in the AM and we hit the tide wrong, but still managed to put a few in the boat. Fish in the photo came off a Picasso shock blade pro and hog farmer spunk shad trailer. Couldn’t buy a bite throwing soft plastics. My fishing partner was doing well tipping the tops of the grass with a Manns Baby One Minus as well. When all else fails in the Potomac, throw a bladed jig!

Fishing for small mouth bass in a ledge system above dam # number 3 on the Potomac river. Hooked a 45" musky on 6 lb pound braid with 15 pound fluro Carbon leader.

Fishing Mattawoman Creek off of the Potomac River. Started out at first light throwing War Eagle buzzbaits with Yum Tip toads in place of the skirt. We were retrieving the the buzz baits through the tops of Lilly pads on a high outgoing tide and it produced well.

Couldn’t get bit on a moving bait, so I had to slow down and fish the grass edge with a wacky rig. Water was crystal clear and watermelon red magic works well in those conditions.
