TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonFallStructureMatted GrassThe fall season fishing patterns are working well so far. I targeted topped out weeds ,punching throw with a1oz waitght. Tie a snell knot to your hook for better hookups. Lots of fun punching Matts. Give an honest try, and you'll be surprised what you'll find. Have fun and be safe on the water.

TechniqueBuzzbaitsSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationQuick Summary - I'm headed to the BASS Kayak Championship at Fork! State Championship Qualifier for Colorado was held at Pueblo Reservoir this year. Started out Friday on the east end of the lake fishing a little deeper dropoffs around rock. Beast coast jig with the 3" chigger made it through the whole day without losing it and caught most of the fish in practice (smallmouth). Needed to be a little bit clearer water as fish were eating it right after the fall or after the first hop. Caught a few trout on the wiggle wart before finally getting a few small smallmouth on it. Day of the tournament - decided to head to find grass as my largest one in practice cracked 15" and knew it would take about 80" to win it. Saw fish busting around grass in the AM and off of points. Picked off a couple smallmouth on a point with the jig early on. Found a flatter bank with some deep scattered grass and threw the War Eagle buzzbait. Caught my largest of the day in the pic with that buzzbait and caught another further back in the cove around scattered grass. Switched up to a frog around some protected grass mats and caught two more largies. Wrapped it up by catching a smallmouth on the wiggle wart out on the main lake around scattered brush/grass. Ended up in 2nd for the day!
