Early morning topwater bite on the Rappahanock was slow. Had an outgoing tide and the bite should have been there, but the water was stained chocolate milk. Couldn’t hit anything on the spook, but the Canterbury buzz toad got a few. I caught the fish shown on the point of a feeder creek into the main stem of the river where there is some submerged timber.

Throwing Shakey heads on laydowns in the rappahanock. Had an outgoing tide and overcast sky’s. I was using a 1/8 oz Scott Canterbury head, working the worm with the current in the same direction of the tide. Zoom Plum Trick Worms are becoming my one of my favorite colors to throw on a shakey head. I use the Falcon Lowrider Shakey Head rod with a 2500 size Daiwa Fuego reel. In the $130 price range, the Lowriders are one of my favorite series of rods. I own 5 of them now.
