Fished for a few hours in the morning. Primary fished a Megabass vision 110 jerkbait for SMB. Mixed in some topwater with a LC Sammy. Saw beds all over the rocky areas. Caught 15 SMB in about 3 hours of fishing.

Decent opening day bite for smallmouth and walleyes on X-raps in hot steel and pink. Targeted shoreline oriented rock/weed transitions and gravel points.

With a number of islands, coves, points, and humps there always seems to be an option if the wind picks up or weekend boat traffic is bad. Or head to one of the two connected lakes for a change. Bluegill, crappie and rock bass are fairly prevalent across the lake and can be found on any defined weed line, along with hammer-handle pike. Walleye and Smallmouth can be tough to find but are present.

Fish were stacked on the wind blown side of the lake anywhere around vegetation or any type of cover. Any retrieve speed seemed to work with the wave action.
