Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationTook my kayak out and fished from around 6am-10am. Caught 7 bass and 1 pickerel, nothing large but the numbers are there. There’s a lot of underwater grass everywhere so I rigged the drop shot weedless. I had the best luck catching fish casting into deeper grass, maybe 10+ ft of water. Didn’t target edges or anything specific, just threw the drop shot into the middle of some grass and dragged it back slowly.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureRip RapFished from the bank for 3 hours in the morning with my cousin. Water clarity at Rising Sun Lake is much clearer than the other lakes in the area I’ve been to, even with all the recent rain it was still maybe 3 ft of clarity. Weather was overcast and foggy. My cousin caught 1 bass, lost 2 bass on the ned rig. I caught 3 bass, lost 1 bass, caught 1 pickerel on the ned rig. Snagged and broke off on the rocks, retied a 3in swimbait, and caught a crappie and another pickerel afterwards. All the fish were pretty small, bass were all <12in. Tons of baby bass and bluegill could be spotted from shore. The entire north shoreline is fishable from the bank, just make sure to wear long pants and use bugspray since there is walking through long grass/bushes/thorns, and wear some footwear to walk on rocks with. The rocks are pretty slippery so be careful!
