Largemouth Bass
TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationI landed 7 bass in my bass club tournament. The biggest was 3lbs and smallest was a 1.5 lbs the rest were over 2lbs. Best bait was the Big Blade Chatterbait; I wish I would have had it tied on at the start of the day. I got three bass and a bullhead on the craw tube. I got five small pike on various Chatterbaits. I also got rock bass, perch, bluegill, and two walleye on the TRD. I also caught one rock bass in the Big Blade. We fished in 8 to 16 feet of water. My boater had a limit of 3lbs and took 3rd Place placing behind the winner who pitched and punched in the reeds and a frog fishing fool who had his limit quickly and never was able to cull a fish.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationWe worked the break lanes pre-fishing for a tournament in 8’ to 16’. I caught fish from one to three pounds on various Jackhammers. Lots of dead water and more high percentage spots where we didn’t get bit. A mix of weeds seemed to help, but wasn’t a sure thing. Plenty of pike so I recommend using a leader to protect your lure from getting bit off.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationSo much bait in the lake right now. Key was finding bait over grass edges topped out at 10 to 12 in 18 to 20 ft. Throwing into the bait and pulling it through the grass letting it fall occasionally and watching them follow it out the edge and crush it on livescope. Absolute thing of beauty.
