TechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureSubmerged VegetationAnother day on sag. You can catch fish anywhere on this lake. I went back into a cove in 6 feet of water and was catching crappies and sunnies. Fished from 2:30- 6 pm. Same jig as always with a wax worm. This lake has tons of small fish, just have to weed out the smaller ones and get the bigger ones to bite.

TechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureSubmerged VegetationCaught a limit on sag tonight. Fished from 4:30 pm - 8 pm. They were up super shallow in 8-10 feet. Easily caught over 100 fish. Tons of sunnies mixed in too. Clam pinhead spoon tipped with corn and wax worms. You can tell they are crappies when they race off the bottom to eat, or if they show up out of no where in the middle of the water column. The sunnies tend to mosey up from the bottom and bite super light.

TechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructurePointsOut on sag again, tons of little fish. Fishing in the same 12-16 feet of water as the last outing. Super finicky today, took a lot of coaxing to get a bite. Only a few that were above 8 inches. Jig was tipped with wax worm and crappie nibble.

TechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructurePointsCrappies in 12-16 feet of water jigging a clam flutter spoon in a red color tipped with a wax worm and crappie nibble. Would only bite if the crappie nibble was chartreuse, they did not want a white or pink colored nibble. Tons of sunnies in the mix, had to weed a lot of them out. If you see one that races off the bottom on your vexilar then it's a crappie. The sunnies tend to be more tentative. I fished from 3-7 pm and the bite turned off around 6:30.

TechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureOpen Water/BasinFound some crappies out deep in 25 feet of water. Not many, but they were not suspended. On the bottom which was extremely weird. Not sure if it is from the warm weather we have had or what, but that's where they were. This lake has been on fire recently. Normally limit out with really nice crappies and sunnies every time I go out. Jigging a clam jig in the wonder bread color topped with a crappie nibble.

TechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructurePointsCaught probably 100 sunnies with some crappies mixed in, in about 4 hours on the ice today. Fished from 2-6 pm. Hottest bite period was from 3-4 pm. Fishing a clam jig with a wax worm. Didn't seem to matter the color as long as there was a wax worm on it. Fishing off points with small amounts of weeds on the bottom that were left over from the summer. Anywhere from 10-18 feet of water. Just hole hopped around in the same general area.
