    This report is for Bouton Lake on the southwest end of Sam Rayburn. We went out mid day around 3pm. Tried to use the old faithful worm but couldn’t get a bite. Switched to the lizard and caught one. Go pro overheated right before I caught it. I was able to power it back on for the release. Wife caught three on the lizard also. There is a small pond to the east something big lives in there. Snapped my line ate my bait in half and it snapped my wife’s line. Couldn’t get a good hook set. But it was a fighter. Bugs weren’t bad but I always use repellant anyway.

    Piles were hit or miss. Saw lots of small crappie on piles while other piles were empty. Best piles seemed to be in the 20' range. Water temps 87-93. Lake is still about 2.5' high and falling. We used a variety of hand tied jigs with shad colors working best
