Largemouth BassTechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructureBrush PilesIt felt good to get back on the water again, and it feels even better to have had a good enough day to write another report! I went out on the lake on 08/23/22 from about noon until about 6:30 PM. The weather was nice with temperatures in the mid 70's all day and rain throughout most of the day, with a steady southwest wind at about 5-10 mph. The water temperatures ranged from about 82-85 degrees and the water clarity was anywhere from a foot of visibility to about 6 inches of visibility. Me and my buddy were able to catch a few smaller fish targeting docks with a texas rig throughout the day, but our biggest bites came fishing points with standing timber or brush piles on offshore flats anywhere from 15-23 feet of water with a deep crankbait and a texas rig. This technique offered slow fishing but produced 2 nice fish for me throughout the day, a 6.68 (pictured) and a 5.48. The thermocline seemed to be at about 25-28 feet deep. Overall it was a tough day but the right fish came out to play. Thanks for reading the report, tight lines!
