      Docks

Went out Saturday afternoon in between the storms. It stormed all morning, but cleared up enough in the afternoon to get out on the water for a few hours before another series of storms would arrive later in the evening. Managed to catch a few on the Spro Poppin Frog 60 on a Denali AttaX 7' 4" heavy fast casting rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 gear ratio casting reel paired with K9 60 pound "8" Strand Dyneema Super Braid I also caught a couple fish on a Wacky rigged Gary Yamamoto Black and Blue 5" Senko on a Denali Lithium 7' medium heavy moderate fast spinning rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 spinning reel paired with K9 25 pound "9" Strand Dyneema Super Braid as my main line with Sunline 10 pound FC Sniper Fluorocarbon as my leader. Caught most of the fish relating to docks. The key was finding docks that had grass and pads near the docks.

      Lily Pads

Caught a bunch of cookie cutter males fry guarding. Caught all of my fish along grass lines with patches of lillipads and under docks. I was mainly switching between a Spro Poppin' Frog 60 on a Denali AttaX 7' 4" Heavy Fast Casting Rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 gear ratio real with K9 60 pd. "8" Strand Dyneema Super Braid and a Untamed Tackle Punisher Swim Jig paired with a NetBait Paca Chunk on a Denali AttaX 7' 4" Heavy Fast Casting Rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 gear ratio reel with K9 "9" Strand Dyneema Super Braid. When it came to fishing the docks I would switch between these two baits and a wacky rigged 5" black and blue Yamamoto Senko on a Denali Lithium 7' Medium Heavy Fast Action Spinning Rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 Spinning Reel with K9 25 pd. "9" Strand Dyneema Super Braid with a leader of 10 pd. Sunline FC Sniper. I would alternate between these three baits based on the conditions and the cover.

Targeted spawning fish inside matted areas, caught a lot of bucks but couldn’t get the big girls to commit.

Cold day. Bites came when we pitched to the edges of the hay grass.
