Try to find places with a lot of boulders and throw between them. Usually right along the bank.

Cast into the current and just let it roll down the rocks. Still more in the deeper sections not shallow.

Try to find deep pockets with a rock wall or boulders in the middle. They should be bellow some rapids too.

Rolling it down the current in between the Rocks should work. You can also throw shallow onto the bank.
