With Lake Shannon still at winter pool, it was key to fish the main lake section. Everything north of the spillway was unproductive. Caught a bakers dozen on a jerkbait, best 5 went 15.5 lbs.

Crawling a swimbait also produced a lot of largemouth and smallmouth bass but the biggest fish came on a floating worm on a free rig. Docks, lay downs, stumps and seawalls all held fish.

April 17 - Happy Easter! Water Temps 52-54. Largemouth and smallmouth are up on points and islands. Hitting jerkbaits on long pauses and jigs crawled slowly. A few fish on a Spinnerbait.

Largemouth, smallmouth, walleyes and Crappie are on the points leading to spawning flats. Moving baits worked well!

Lake is just getting full pool from winter drawdown, water temp is in the mid 40's and the bite is slow. Slow working a swim jig on stump flats is catching a few largemouth and smallmouth.

Despite cold muddy water, the fish didn't want the noisy red baits they ate yesterday. Largemouth and smallmouth bass hit on soft swimbaits and a 3 1/8" Rapala Shad Rap in Crawdad color.

Cold muddy water but bite was good on thumping baits - Rapala BX Mid Brat, Chatterbait Big Blade & Picasso All-Terrain Inline Spinner. Red, orange and Bluegill patterns produced best.
