Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsI took my kayak to a new lake on 6/19 to chase some Largemouth. This lake overall is shallow and has a bunch of weeds/pads. Due to the majority of the water being 80 degrees or more there was a scum across all the pads and choked out areas (which is most of the lake). It felt like fishing during the dog days of summer. The weeds were so dirty that you couldn't throw a spinnerbait, buzzbait or swim jig even without picking slime off your bait at the end of each cast. Frog was the only option. I wound up catching 5 bass and 2 pike on a frog with the biggest being a 2.5lber.
