Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsI was running the Flapping Frog off the bank in less than 7 feet of water. A mix of lily pads and some algae when I paused it in an open spot. Bloop…just a subtle slurp and down she went! I set the hook and reeled her in! This frog is so versatile that you can just let it sit and twitch it like a standard hollow bodied frog. Then run it as intended and let the legs kick away and it will get strikes that way too! Black, Bone, White, and ones with a yellow or orange belly work great. I added my set up, but the rod isn’t available anymore. It’s an Abu Garcia Jordan Lee spinning rod I converted to a frog rod.

Found bass in the reeds. I was flipping the outside edge and caught a few 3#ers. Started flipping deeper in the reeds and noticed a few beds with bass on them. I never got them to go. I also got a bonus first ever musky flipping the reeds.

Fished day 2 of the All American Kayak Series on Big Spirit. Fish were pulling up to spawn and were looking to make beds in the reeds. Wacky rig and a custom colored bladed jig was the ticket to filling my limit of 83.25''

The smallmouth have moved up into the bay on the NE side of the lake to spawn. Look for the gravel bars in 8-10 FOW and look for cruising schools of fish. Slow dragging a NED rig along the rock/sand transitions and on top of the gravel bars will produce strikes.
