My bites have been knocked down to around 40 per day. My average limit is about 17lbs each trip with lots of 3lb class fish. The last trips I have had I have found 2 main patterns. Deeper trees seem to hold quantities of fish that you just can’t find anywhere on the lake right now. These fish are generally schoolers and love eating shad style baits. The other pattern is up shallow in only a few feet of water around lay down wood and reeds. These fish are closer to pre spawn and spawning fish. The water temp up north is 54-69 which is great for spawning fish. I haven’t seen many with my eyes but I have used my livescope to see them set up on bases of stumps and trees doing their thing. I hope this helps!

Largemouth BassTechniqueLipless CrankbaitsSeasonWinterStructureStumpsSquaw Creek Reservoir is a power plant lake so that means the water is around 60-80 degrees in the winter time. They will spawn around January which can be a blast. The day I went water temps were 81-83 with water clarity around 2-4ft. I was burning a lipless crankbait around standing timber. The fish really liked solid colors since it was cloudy out in the morning. Once the sun came out I switched to a translucent color and started smashing them on that. I usually crank with 10-12lb line but with all the trees I upsized my line to 15lb AbrazX. The drop shot also played for the fish on bottom structure. Good luck!

Largemouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonFallStructureStanding TimberDidn’t have the option for the bait I used but I hammered them on the Googan flat banger. Caught multiple fish on the frittside 5 as well, but ended up breaking all mine off. My brother caught several on a Spinnerbait in a fire tiger/perch type color. Landed in 2nd place with 13.12lbs. Biggest fish was 3.61lbs. Nothing big but a ton of fun. Caught most of them upriver on a rocky bank with a lot of standing trees. Caught a few more including my biggest by the dam on a riprap bank

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureBrush PilesWater temps were 80-83 when I was out last on 10/30/22. The transition has started and all the fish are chasing bait like crazy. I targeted most of my fish in 6-10ft of water with a drop shot around submerged timber. There’s not much to catching Squaw Creek fish so if you’ve only got to bring 1 rod I highly recommend a drop shot. You will 1000% get bit on any bank you pull up to.
