Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWater temp was about 75 degrees, not bad after yesterday's heat. Visibility in the water was low, maybe 3-4 feet tops. We fished the south side of the lake, and the bass were in the pads. We fished the edges and had some success with the wacky rig. Frogs across the pads were not producing many hits. Given the murky water, dark colored lures are best.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureOpen Water/BasinIn the late evening the bass came out of the shallows to feed in 5-10' of water. They were hitting the wacky rig HARD. Water is a bit murky, so I was using bright and dark color 6" XZone sticks. They really seem to like the laminates. Also, the #2 VMC wacky hooks never fail me. The bass on this lake are a good fight, and using the right size hook makes the difference between boating them and losing them.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationSpent some time working the pads. I've heard that they can hold some good bass. I had two small blow-ups, but they missed. This would be a good technique for the north and south sides of the lake, likely in the early morning (I fished in the eve). Wacky was much more productive in 6-10' water along the weed edges. Casting out an Xzone 6" stick, letting it drop, and lifting a couple times produced many LM. The trick on this lake appears to be patience. They're also very good fighters -- lost one on the jump. Lots of fun!
