TechniqueTubesSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureRock PileThe Surgeon Bay Area did not disappoint! We found smallies on rocky flats cruising around just waiting to crush a 2.5 inch tube. A smaller tube here is key to mimic the common forage of goby and small craws that post spawn smallies cannot resist. A bait that produced bigger fish was the 3 4/5 inch Megabass Dark Sleeper fished slowly around drop offs near the same shallow rocky flats. A longer spinning rod for casting a small tube or sleeper as far as possible can give you a major advantage out here as these fish can be tricky to find on such large flats

TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructureRock PileSpent 3 days prefishing/fishing the Badger State Midsummer Open. Fished northern bays. Some fish were still on bed but most fish were found slow dragging a tube in 7-10 feet on rock to sand transitions. Keitechs and a stealth invader dropshot also produced bites.
