TechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationRight when I got on the water I noticed small, bite-size bluegill were cruising along the deeper weedlines, so I knew right away that was the forage. Picked up the rage bug and that was the end of it. Was able to find a decent pattern which was pretty cool on a lake this small and in unusually clear water. Even found some crappie and bluegill on a brush pile for the frying pan! Can't complain, good spring day!

Crappie
TechniqueCrappie Sniping (Casting/Single Poling)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThe crappie (and yellow bass) were everywhere on LiveScope. Looks like there was a good spawn for them this year. I slid right up along the grass line in probably 5 FOW and could catch 8 inchers all day long. I moved to some steeper banks that also had grass and found some bigger 12 inchers in 8-10 FOW, but again, still right on those grass lines. Fun day!

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructurePointsI found them on 2 underwater points that were right next to each other with a deep crankbait. It seemed like they had the perfect combination of sparse grass and rock for cover as well as the hard/high spots of the points for structure. It was one of the only places on the lake I could get bit as the brushpiles were not productive for me. Fun day on the water!

TechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonFallStructurePointsFish rock jetties in 10 FOW or less with crankbaits. There is typically a thermocline/line that shows up on your sonar, don't fish below that. I have rarely found fish below it.
