Summer can be tough. Nothing was working but light line with BFS gear and small baits. The Megabass Spark Shad 3in seemed to be the thing the bass wanted to chase. I only caught three but it was a day when everyone else getting skunked.

Water Temp was hovering at 50 in the shallow and 48 on main lake. Most bites were in 3 to 6 ft of water, around stumps and timber, but some were just in shallow flats. Cloudy and light rain with 7 to 12 mph wind. Jerkbait seemed to be the one bait they'd commit to. Tried spinnerbaits and lipless with limited success.

Find opening in the submerged grass. Then cast towards shore and slowly reel it into deeper water.

Work all the grass lines on the north end. The slower the better.

Caught 4 decent keepers for almost 9 pounds. Throwing that thunder cricket around any wood cover to catch them; the air still made it a slow day of fishing.
