Best fish came early on chug bugs but as it got later in the morning you had to resort to the wacky rig and even a carolina rigged lizard. You had to be around hydrilla for the more consistent bite. BE patient as the biote is slow, but you can put together a limit in a span of a few hours.

Had good grace today with the hula grub rigged Texas and fishing drains with vegetation. Look for brim beds as that was where the better bites came. When you find those beds fish that area well because the bass are near. Also caught some small ones on the DT-20. All depths were between 8-16’

Started out early, with LUCKY HOOK GUIDE SERVICE. New the exact spot to boat up to a large shoot Of fish shallow. Running the baitfish on the edge of matted grass Pad. Slowly working the lures back. We had several blow up. That just didn’t hook up. In my opinion. They where big fish. Every fish caught and released where a 3+# average. As the school moved out deeper as the sun got higher into the day. I followed the with my Garmin system out deeper. An they kept biting in a 8’ to 10’ depth average. Seems to be the best or most bites is rite before day break or night fall. Just due to the summer heat.

Cranking on a slow retrieve/pausing the lure at times. Had gotten biten better than just bring the lure back steadily. The pause was where the big bitten fish where. Also as the wind gotten to blow up into the day. The bite was much consistent.

Ended up have a consist bites. Fishing rock ledges at 12’ falling off to 28’ into the deep river cliff ledges. Was a different technique today. Usually the lure is fished downward of the fall. Just not that many bites that way. So decided to fish the lure from the deep to the shallow upward of the ledge. An that way the key. Might not work for everyone. But that style fishing was key on this adventure.

Lucky hook charters, had a great morning start. Fishing brush piles out front of cove entrance. Throwing at rock ledges and brush piles. Later up into the morning fishing out to deeper flats.
