Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationBass are up shallow (1-4ft) as well at the midrange (10-18ft). lots of areas are covered in weed beds, in this case, lengthen your dropshot leader from the hook to the weight to keep the bait above the grass. Slowly drag with an occasional hop to get their attention. The Jerkbait and mid-strollling is a great method to draw them out of the grass or get fish to come off the bottom. Up shallow, cover as much of the shoreline with the Chatterbait Evo with a moderate-fast retrieve. This lead to my winning fish and I shouldve been doing it sooner. Dont for get to target transitions as well as rocky points. Tight Lines!

TechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureBouldersWater level came up 11' overnight and blew the lake full of debris. Water clarity is 1-2', lake is very high and dirty but it should make for a great fall once it clears a little. Water temp currently 73-75 deg

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueTubesSeasonSummerStructurePointsThe lake has a tons of weeds all over the lake that comes up about 1-2 from the bottom. Finding a weedline or rocky areas were key in finding the smallmouth! drag the Juvy craw slowly and add an occasional pop to get their attention. Keeping the rod tip high helps with getting over rocks and reduces the chance of getting hung up. Tightlines!

Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationDuring trip, there are thousands of juvenile Perch everywhere. Many of the Smallmouth and walleye were hanging tight to the bottom and following these schools of perch everywhere. The perch can be found on weed beds feeding on snails. With the jerkbait, target the 15-18ft of water range. with 10lb flouro, you will be working the 8-10ft range. The walleye and Bass will shoot up from the bottom and nail it. Work the jerkbait in a one twitch a second. any faster they would give up on it, any slower and they would get a really good look and turn around. With the Dropshot, leave about 2.5ft of line from your weight to the hook. this will allow the bait to still be visible when the weight goes through the weed bed. Make a very long cast and DRAG bag as if you were trolling. Trout, Bass, and walleye were all together and all three species were included in our multi-species touney. I was fortunate enough to get away with a WIN! Tightlines!
