Very tough bite, with cool water, cool night time temps and crystal clear water as always on this lake. Bass caught were primarily on a drop shot on the drop offs in like 12 feet of water. Some fish seemed to be in the spawning mood, with most still cruising the nearest drop off. Lots of fish seen in the 12 foot range, but tough to convert a bite.

Outing is for June 1st, 2024. Weather was high pressure gusting winds. Air temps in the upper 60s and low 70s. Mostly sunny. Water clarity of over 12 feet as always on this lake. We tried some outside weedlines, drop off etc. Found largemouth and some smallies up shallow with some signs of the spawn, but most fish seemed to still be cruising, with a few fish found on bed. Largies were cruising up shallow, smallies cruising more of the deeper 8 to 12 foot zone. Had action on walking and popping baits up shallow and some action on a jackhammer. Didn't have much luck out deeper trying a drop shot. Overall a good day of fishing. Tried walleye later in the evening with no luck on minnows on a midlake hump.
