Smallmouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesThis was my first time on South Trout Lake, and although I was fishing for smallies, I was willing to take whatever would bite. There's a TON of fish that showed on the finder. Check out the drop-offs just off the shade in the early summer morning. There's also cribs sprinkled throughout the lake. I had my best luck on the ned rig. Admittedly it was TOO nice a day, however, and the fish were generally not interested in playing any fun games. I've read that cisco are the main bait fish here, so lures with flashes of silver (like the smallie magic) should work best.
