Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationOn July 10th, the water temp hovering around the 71 degree mark and the post-spawn Bass were feeding aggressively. Fished the Piercefield Flow and the early morning top-water bite was hot! The Rebel Pop R in Bone near lay-downs resulted in some fierce blow ups from both Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass. A few quality Largemouth Bass were caught flipping a 5” Yamamoto Senko in Green Pumpkin in the shallow reeds area; however, the larger Bass were caught using a ZMAN 3/8 oz Jackhammer (Black and Blue) with a Yamamoto Zako (Black and Blue) in ~5 FOW, near drop offs. Tips: 1) Look for isolated reeds in deeper water, 5 -7 FOW and throw at the deep outside edges; 2) Find submerged vegetation near drop offs and pull a bladed jig through the grass to trigger a big Bass bite.
