The Z-man Gremlin got me two decent ones early in the morning and the bite turned off. Went and threw the squarebill along the dam, letting it just clip some of the rocks (maybe 7 ft deep) and caught some more, including this 4.89 fatty!

Tried a number of techniques over a very long day. Only had about 3 solid hookups by eventually throwing the swim bait rigged weedless into the thick submerged vegetation. They all came with a large side salad.

Both days we had one over 6 caught offshore. We were dragging scattered stumps with Tokyo Rigs and football jigs. You could also catch em on a dropshot but it was hard to get em out of the cover.

Caught a couple nice largemouth while it was raining around standing timber in about 8-10 ft of water. Was really finesse swimming the crush city mayor with a 1/8 oz 4O weighted hook. Photo is of my dad who was fishing with me.

It was a pretty tough bite. Luckily my partner caught a 6.21lb kicker. We caught most of our fish flippin around a 1/2oz black and blue jig and a 3/8oz Shakey head. We were fishing pretty fast to cover water because the fish were so spread out. Most of the stumps were in 6-8ft of water.

It’s late summer, so pay attention to the thermocline. Lots of algae in the lake and I could sense the fall turnover is coming. Caught my best fish offshore dragging/popping a big football jig on channel ledges.
