Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonFallStructureBrush PilesFish were kind of scattered all over the place. The best bite I could find was fishing brush piles in 8-12’. I’d have to make at least 15 casts on the shakeyhead into the same pile before one would commit.

Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructurePointsBeing my 1st time at this lake I struggled in the early, early morning. Tried a dozen or so different crank baits, swim jigs & pitching stick baits along points that had submerged structure. Finally hit on the right combination with the Zman Chatterbait Elite (Black & Blue) backed with the Xzone Adrenaline Craw 4.25" (Green Pumpkin Red Flake). Did not catch the big one but landed a 1/2 dozen or so 2.5 - 3 lb. Largies within a couple hours. Best landing time was between 9:00 am - 11:00.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureLedgesIt’s late summer, so pay attention to the thermocline. Lots of algae in the lake and I could sense the fall turnover is coming. Caught my best fish offshore dragging/popping a big football jig on channel ledges.

Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonFallStructureStanding TimberIt was a pretty tough bite. Luckily my partner caught a 6.21lb kicker. We caught most of our fish flippin around a 1/2oz black and blue jig and a 3/8oz Shakey head. We were fishing pretty fast to cover water because the fish were so spread out. Most of the stumps were in 6-8ft of water.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassPretty much just throwing this frog on the windblown grass off points got the job done. Placed 2nd in this little tournament before a big storm blew in.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonFallStructureRock PileThe water was supper dingy but they would still eat the ned! I was actually targeting boat ramps, when you power load a boat there is a ton of sediment pushed back from under the ramp, therefore there is a hard bottom hump off of the ramp. Just creeping the ned rig along and our biggest fish of the tournament ate it. Staying patient is the biggest key!

Largemouth BassTechniqueGrass JigsSeasonFallStructureStanding TimberCaught most of my fish on the flats close to a break line. They where relating to isolated standing timber on theses areas. Caught most of my fish on black/ blue/ purple jig with a June bug pit boss worked slowly.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureStanding TimberVery tricky today on 12 mile. Caught one decent one first cast deep cranking but couldn’t get another bite on the crankbait the rest of the day. Dropshot around standing timber got multiple bites, all very small though.
