TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSummerStructureFlooded BrushRan a spinnerbait not listed here, but matching the Strike King with a small Zako and a trailer. The small zako barely extends past the end of the skirt but gives it more mass for the fish to vacuum in and it protects the trailer hook. I can’t remember when I last ran a trailer, but I’m glad I did this time as each of them was on the trailer. Still missed at least two. It looks like they were basically blasting the minnow schools and swiping at them the first pass then picking up the stragglers. I know one of them struck and got ahold of the blades right up on shore. The biggest one (the picture) was just under 2 pounds. He hit when I got the spinner to go between the brush and the bank. Couldn’t have been 6” of space.
