The bite was a tough, late summer bite. The only fish I got to commit were early in the morning on topwater (buzzbaits and frogs near grass lines). I tried fishing deep flooded timber with nothing as well as a chatterbait along grass lines. I wish I would’ve tried a weightless fluke along the grass lines as I think that’s where they were, but just wanted a more finesse presentation. Water temp was mid 70s so still pretty warm, but hopefully dropping with cooler nighttime temps that will kickoff the solid fall bite.
