We tried everything but those two baits were the only thing they wanted to eat. Watered is a tuff lake because there are little bass but heavy baitfish. I recommend fishing rock piles and points. Those two pieces of structure were key for our success.

Lake wateree is in a drawdown right now so the fish are pulling off the bank due to sparse cover. These fish can be caught on main lake points and offshore humps on football jigs. I prefer the greenfish jigs because of their high quality.

The fish are very spread one and stuck on bait. The fishery is very hard at the moment and you have to find baitfish to find bass. The fishery is loaded with crappie however and the brush piles are full of them. I recommend finding brush piles or rock on deep points.

Lake wateree is low right now with maintenance being performed on the dam by duke power. This has most of the docks on the lake in little to no water. With not as much shallow cover, these fish have resorted to using shallow rock and stumps off the bank for cover. The water is also very muddy with recent rains. The rapala og slim 6 flat out catches them this time of year on wateree. Pick up your favorite fitzgerald rods crankin stick, parallel the bank, and burn the bank down until you find them. When you find them, hold on!

Crank boat ramps on the lower end of the lake. Strikes will come when your bait is at the very bottom of the ramp.

All summer long from postspawn till the fall turnover the water willow can be VERY productive. Especially may through June. Working a popping frog through Isolated patches of water willow will yield big tournament winning bites.
