      Brush Piles

Used the Garmin Livescope to find brush piles in the coves along the larger creeks arms coming into Whites Creek off the main lake. Not all, but a few of the brush piles had some nice crappie on them. Only 4 or 5 usually so take your time and don’t get too close if you can help it as they seem to spook easily. Used a Megabass Okashira spin jig with the blades in the front and a 3” megabass white spark shad to pull slowly over the tops of the brush piles. Something about that little prop seemed to trigger them as they hit it hard. Make sure you give it a second or two to sink as it’s a light rig.

      Humps

Used a megabass spark shad on a 1/0 cool Baits under spin. Found a spot on the big bay toward the back end of Whites Creek with a larger hump in 14’ of water near deeper water. There were also nearby stumps with a mound of boulders. Casted from 20 to 25’ away and slow rolled it after letting the bait sink for 7 or 8 ft. Fish were suspended about 5’ off the bottom.

Saturday the 14th, partly cloudy conditions with a 2-5mph wind. Temps mid to high 70s. Water temps 70. On flats of roughly 10 to 15 feet targeting rock piles or cuts a slow bouncing neko rig landed my largest fish of the day. The technique was also productive shallow. The bass were not interested in a wacky rigged worm or shakyhead.
