Shallow water around trees and stumps where water is just starting to get into these areas. But biggest numbers came from deep water 12-15 feet.

Got my Mustad hooks in the mail Friday to test so I hit the lake Saturday morning. Bass were hitting early on ledges and drop offs from shallow to deep water. The Mustad hooks worked great only missed 1 fish all day and that was probably on me for setting hook too quick. Bass were hitting pretty much anything in the Zoom family of watermelon seed.

Started off early working spinner baits around docks and brush. Best fish of the day 4.5 pounds under edge of dock. Got hot quick Saturday turned to Carolina rig with the new Mustad Alpha Point hooks I’m testing for Omnia and again didn’t disappoint. True hook set on all 4 fish caught working Carolina rig around rocks and tree stumps. Zoom pumpkin and green pumpkin for all 5 (3 spots and 2 largemouth). Good day overall but by noon it was 95+ and called it a day. Good luck out there everyone.

Striped BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSummerStructureDamBest day of the year so far. Several stripped bass and large mouths. Most were on spinner baits but also on rattle traps and swim bait. Letting the bait drop all the way to the bottom and working back up. Most were in 10-12 of water.

Caught approx 20 bass between 13 and 16 inches on combination of spinnerbaits and pop-r type baits

Several bass early while they were chasing shad using Strike King Rage Swimmers. Later turned to pumpkin worm on Carolina rig.
