Crappie were biting on chartreuse jig head with blue/pearl grub with chartreuse tail. Suspended 5-7 feet deep on drop offs in coves with 10’ of water. Water was murky with a surface temperature in upper 60’s. First time fishing this lake. Perfect for the kayak with few boaters and no wind. Lake staff were extremely friendly and kayaks are free to use as long as they don’t have a motor. Boat traffic does pick up in the summer. Is primarily a catfish lake and is stocked yearly with saugeye. I have seen photos of nice largemouth bass caught in it as well. Will definitely be coming back and targeting saugeye.
