Water temps are in the mid 50s and the bass are up shallow eating a crankbait and a spinnerbait on rip rap. The scoping bite is also good right now too with a lot of fish coming on a mooch minnow.

Today was a solid day of catching multiple bass on different baits. I used a 1/2 oz Wrecker Baits football jig with a mini D chunk to catch a few. Most of the day was spent junk fishing. The water is down for winter pool and the bass I caught were up shallow feeding!

I casted and counted down to them. Fish were in 15-20 feet of water in creeks. I had to retrieve as slow as possible due to the water temp 47°.

Fished for 5 hours in the morning. Caught about 15 bass, mostly LMB but did get one Spotted Bass and one SMB. Best 5 went about 9lbs. Lake is about 3 feet low so I hit structure/laydowns in deeper water on main lake points. SB Crank bait by Ichikawa caught most. Got a few on the trusty ole jackhammer.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonWinterStructureBouldersFriday saw a cold front move in with rain showers off and on all day. Caught the smallmouth early on the top water choppo. Later in the afternoon ran into the spotted bass on a nice jerk bait bite. All were caught off rock points.
