Species
Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationThere is an abundance of submerged grass near the channel. I had productive success running a chartreuse/white spinner bait along the edge of the grass near the drop into the channel (I did better running with the current than against). Light breeze from the south and east.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonFallStructureRiver ChannelsThere are a few places on this lake/river, between Decatur and Guntersville, where the channel swings up against a bluff wall. On these swings, I had success pitching a Ned rig against the bluff wall and jigging as the current carried it. No wall-hangers but consistent bites. Especially late morning (10-12).

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Popping)SeasonFallStructureFlooded BrushOn the outside of a channel swing, I targeted submerged timber in and near grassy pockets along the shoreline. I was working light-colored poppers across the top while my partner followed up with spinnerbaits - topwater was more active. Sunny, no clouds, light breeze out of the south: there was a viable topwater bite until noon. No lunkers but regular, steady action.
