Water visibility was amazing today. Early in the morning you can get away with more shallow fishing but once it hit about 8:30am i found myself needing to stay about 13’ deep or more. Bouncing drop shots has been killer as i’ve realized the fish really get after the bait on the come down rather than dragging it on the bottom lately. At around 10AM the bite had fallen off for me and i headed in at 11. Best colors today were neon green pumpkin and sexy shad.
Not too much for quantity, but the quality has been great as shown with this 21” football. My partner today got a 20” themselves. Overall kayak fishing is still very doable on this lake and you can still get trophy fish. Just be sure to be careful at all times when going far from shore to get to those deeper areas.
