Lake Eufaula Alabama is on fire right now! 🔥 I caught fish on every spot I pulled into yesterday on just about everything I threw! My best bites came from a 7.5” culprit worm and punching mats!

The bite is starting to shift as bass move into their pre-spawn transition phase. I had the most success targeting classic staging areas focusing on ledges leading into spawning pockets, secondary points and sea walls The key pattern was finding hard transitions, especially where rock met wood sea wall. Those mixed-composition banks are holding heat and attracting bait, ideal stopping points for bass moving up. Most fish were set up in these in-between zones, not fully committed shallow, but no longer holding deep winter structure eit

Found the bass on secondary points outside of spawn staging areas. Emergent grass next to deep channel swings was a solid pattern for the day. Chartreuse and white spinnerbaits tossed shallow, pulled back over deep water was the ticket.

This time of year is trap season. There are fish in prespawn places in a number of positions on the lake and a few fish that have already pushed up playing the weather games. Finding the right grass and grass mixes is pivotal to success.
