The topwater bite on Clark’s Hill continues. We are seeing fish active on points with a few select fish showing up on humps. Cover water and make adjustments with weather conditions as the day progresses.

The lake has a number of patterns running, but tournament winning bags are being achieved chasing the herring over some other techniques. The fish are beginning their transitions off. There is a good morning bite on points. Up river the fish seem to be a little farther along in their transition then south.

Largemouth were up against the bank and under docks bedding. Spots were mostly on points with some under docks. Most seemed satisfied from shad spawn but managed to pull one largemouth off the back corner of a floating dock and a spot with a pearl Swimbait. White was the color of the day as we had several spots hit a white rattle trap.

Tossing various wacky rigged stick baits in and around laydowns and brush piles in the back creek arms. Most bites were fairly subtle, so a sensitive rod was key, coupled with a hi-viz braid-to-flouro combo.

Focused on standing timber in close proximity to spawning flats. Utilized a swimming jig to "knock" into the wood structure, thereby causing a strike.

It’s that time of year and a lot of people forget about swimming a worm, one of my favorite ways to catch frye gaurders! I throw this on both a spinning and casting setups. 1/8-3/16 on spinning and up to 3/8 on casting. I should go by too. Stay back off the bank and make long accurate cast around cover and docks. Typically you can pick off more than one fish. The key is to slow roll the bait making sure you stay in contact with the bottom. Hook set wise, reel and set. Tight Lines!

The cruisers that were shallow pulled off in the cold nights and have to be found. Fish are still relating to points, mixed largemouth and spots. Blueback are being found selectively, but this should increase in the coming 1-2 weeks
