Staging pre-spawn bass, pulling up on mid-depth rock piles 7-12 ft of water, without the sensitivity of the MEGABASS p5 windbuster, these fish would be near impossible to catch!

The bass are moving up. A storm moved them back on Sunday but they are moving shallow. Saturday I caught a 4lbr in less than a foot of water on an Untamed Tackle swim jig. Sunday I had a 3.5 miss my Bubble Gum Zoom Super Fluke and later i think it took the tail off my swim jig. Saturday I finished 10th and Sunday 4th good enough for 3rd in points after 2 days on the water.

The fish were sitting in 8-12ft of water, and they would only bit the strike king finesse football jig in a 1/4. We tried several other jigs that were a little larger, but with all the pressure on the lake at this time, the finesse techniques were the only ones to land the fish in the boat! Caught several bass that weighed in between 3-3.5 LBs

A few days of sunshine in a row seemed to have them moving up shallow to get some warmer water and chase baitfish. Rocky flats had some mostly 12"-13" fish in the skinny water, while the better ones I caught came off the drop-offs near there. Found a couple holding on brush piles and brought those in with the finesse jig/craw combo. With the water level up right now and warmer weather this week, I'd look for them to get up on more sunny chunk rock for pre-spawn.

Finesse jig was still the bait of choice( Threw spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, full-size jigs, and a shakeyhead as well). They are staging off the bank a little bit chasing bluegills that are on bed. Didn't catch anything of real size.

Was a tough bite and sure enough the wacky rig did its job. Used a 1/0 hook and Yamamoto senko in the pads and mage’s to get this nice bass
