Fished for 3 hours at the 34-mile marker. Caught 4 keeper largemouth bass, three 17-inch, and one 19.5-inch. All were caught behind docks on the main lake in 1 to 4 feet of water.

The lake came up a couple feet we just moved into the summer bass brawl tournament. The morning bite was slow but picked up in the afternoon when there was some sun. Threw Swimbaits all day and was lucky enough to wrangle up 16.21lbs and come in second. The fish are getting post spawn and changing by the day. Now is a good time to get out in the lake and do some fishing. There’s offshore fish and plenty of fish up in the bushes to be Swimbaited and flipped 💪

If you havent been fishing Twain this year, you are missing out! The last few Joe Bass Team Trail tournaments have seen several 20+ pound bags being weighed! Overcast skies and cooler than average air temps are seemingly keeping the water temps down. I found 66-68 degree water in the mid-lake area. Most of the lake is DIRTY with less that 3-6" of visibility. Fishing the 3XD near standing timber was the key today. The cooler temps seem to have slowed the move to summer haunts but a few days of fire in the sky could change that. The spinnerbait was a player today and I had a few run with the power worm that I didn't set the hook on. Tight lines!

Largemouth caught: 15, 16.5, 17, 17.2, and 18. All were caught in 2 feet or less of water. One was a secondary point. Three were in the backs of coves. One was on the main lake. All between the 32 and 34 mile markers.

The fishing for numbers is amazing right now. Look near spawning pockets and pick your favorite ways to fish because you can catch them. Bucks are guarding fry and you pick up the occasional big bite. Back corners of docks, around the walkways, cables, sides of the docks. You can pretty much hit anything that looks good 8 foot or less of water. If you want bigger bites I would focus on that 8-14ft trying to get a reaction strike.

You could catch all three species of bass doing this technique. The smallies were on flatter points with gravel/chunk rock mix. Large mouth and spots came on steeper banks with bigger chunk rock. We had 15lbs in just a couple hours once the sun got up. Stay in the wind if possible. 4.30 smallie and 4.27 largemouth 2.40 spot. I had the best luck on Norman NXS but they aren’t listed on Omnia right now.

MTL showed up and showed up BIG! Joe Bass Team Trail tournament had 35 boats and 17 limits were weighed! 3 fish were in the boat before 10 this AM with the first 2 coming on a black buzzbait. Healthy fish were up shallow on gravel banks getting ready for the spawn. Early morning, moving baits worked well with cloud cover overhead. Later in the day, slowing down with the ever deadly 5" Yamamoto Senko snagged several. On top of the 6 keepers caught, at least that many short fish were also caught. By far one of the best days on this lake in a LONG time!
