Right now, the back of creeks on Watts Bar is where you want to be, especially around stumps, laydowns, and other wood cover. The bladed jig bite is heating up, with bass staging in these areas looking for an easy meal. Best Setup: • Slobberknocker: 3/8 oz in white or chart/white • Power Stinger 3.5" in Pearl • Retrieve: Slow-roll it through cover, letting it bump off stumps—reaction strikes are key Fish are holding tight to wood, so make multiple casts to key targets. If you find slightly stained water, that’s even better. Go get after them.

I was fishing in 65 foot of water! The bass were suspended in 40 to 45 foot of water swimming inside the bait fish balls! I was using my live scope to catch them

Main lake bluffs. Ate it on the initial fall. Was throwing it against the bluff wall similar to the way you’d throw a shakey head.

A lot of the bass I found were suspended 5-10' off the bottom in areas 25-30' of water. Slowing rolling an A-Rig by them was the key to getting bites.

Slow rolling caught a mix of largemouth and smallmouth. A little bit of chop on the surface made it ideal spinnerbait weather.

Well seems I still can’t pick the bait or the reel used. Ark Gravity BFS reel and the bait is a Eurotackle Z-Spender jerkbait from Amazon or the Eurotackle web site. The threadfin shad color specifically. Caught a few of these. They didn’t seem to look twice at any other baits around me. This is a 2 inch suspending jerk bait. I also tried a sinking bitsy jerk bait from strike king and they were not interested. Not a big fish, but where there are a few smaller ones there are larger ones somewhere. Anyway, I didn’t have time to try a larger size before night fall. So maybe something to try for others that want to. I am guessing any shad color suspending jerkbait may work. I just chose the duo realis bait in this case because that was the closest option.

Caught at the boat ramp. Shad were surfacing in the area and skipjack appeared to be feeding on them. This guy was about 10ft off shore.

A lot of the bass have moved shallow to push small shad around on the surface. There is all kinds of bait up shallow and there's a ton of it. I threw everything I had in the kayak (dropshot, squarebill, chatterbait, senko, topwater) at these fish except for the jerkbait, and was only able to catch 2 fish in 2 hours. The last 15 minutes of my day, I finally rigged up a jerkbait and was able to catch 7 bass. There is so much bait in 5ft of water that the bass don't need to eat your dropshot or your topwater or your senko. Getting an aggressive bait down near them will do the trick.

Super tough day but managed to catch a few with a drop shot and 1 on a wacky rigged senko in green pumpkin. for some reason all my bites came in areas with no current, I don't really understand why that is, there were tons of shad schooling up along bluffs in open water but I could get any takers in those areas.
