Best Fall Largemouth Bass Fishing Baits

The days become shorter, brisk mornings are a regular occurrence, and leaves are full of vibrant colors; all are signs that fall is in full affect. With the changes that we see happening on land, there are just as many changes happening under the water’s surface.

Seth Feider of the Bassmaster Elite Series helped us put together the go-to baits for fall largemouth bass fishing.

Largemouth are in search mode for food this time of year. They are often in the back of pockets, around wind-blown banks, and any remaining vegetation left in the lake. Weather will dictate their exact movements with how it affects the forage that is present in the lake. If Largemouth are near a food source, they will be ready to chomp.

In early fall when there is still good vegetation, Texas rigged baits with a pegged weight provide a perfect presentation for the fish using it as cover to stalk prey. Throughout the fall a jig is an efficient bait choice when shallow bass are using docks and any remaining hard structure for cover. When fishing along banks, a small crankbait or buzzbait will allow you to cover ground and push water to help attract hungry largemouth to strike.
