Omnia is a rapidly growing, venture-funded, and data-focused e-commerce company in the fishing tackle industry, a nearly $5B market. We are driven by our passion to organize fishing information and products to provide a unique shopping experience for each customer based on specific bodies of water and time of year. Instead of reviews, our customers file product and technique-related fishing reports on specific lake pages which act as feedback loops to improve the recommended products.
Objectives of this Role
We are seeking a marketing manager who can help us grow in new markets by developing relationships with local groups and individuals.
Important responsibilities include:
- Recruiting top talent in key markets to join our team as field representatives
- Serving as primary point of contact for our pro staff, influencers, affiliates and ambassadors
- Evaluating opportunities for sponsoring local events and groups
- Owning a sponsorship budget and taking responsibility for delivering business outcomes
- Coordinating with Omnia’s field representatives to ensure that they are equipped to represent Omnia effectively
- Motivating representatives with content themes, communication and reporting
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a group of internal and external brand representatives. As a strong communicator, they can motivate with encouragement and hold people accountable to expectations when needed.
Being relational is key to the Marketing Manager role. They must understand how to handle strong personalities and occasionally, to reassure our reps when tensions get high. We’re seeking long term relationships with regional voices and groups and so an understanding of individual motivations will be important to reaching our goals.
Staying on top of influential field representatives in multiple markets will require a strong organizational system. We expect this role to be able to break down complex projects into individual parts and to manage timelines to ensure that our efforts roll along on time.
We’re looking for a strategic thinker who can envision not only how to break into a new market but how to develop a repeatable process for many markets over time. They will be comfortable owning a portion of the marketing budget and reporting back on our progress toward annual revenue targets.
As a key representative of the Omnia Fishing brand, this role requires a knowledge of the business side of the fishing industry and a familiarity with fishing techniques and terminology.
