The 3-4 days prior had cool nights which brought the water temps down and got the bass super active. Water temps in the morning were mid to upper 70's and by 11:30 were low 80's. I was slow rolling a jackhammer along weed edges and they would hammer it! Once they stopped hitting that, I switched to a Texas rigged Missile Baits D Bomb and would cast it on top of the weed mats, then slowly bring it to the edge and let it fall down. Most bites were on the fall. Best day I've had at Banner with my best 5 fish totaling 96 inches.

Banner Marsh is a collection of old strip pits, marsh and ponds along the Illinois River. I visited here and boy does it hold some amazing bass! There is a ton of submerged vegetation with deep drop offs along the edges. Bass will hold along the edges as well as up underneath the vegetation mats. Had great success with weightless texas rigs in this area, allowing the worm to drift into the edges of the submerged vegetation along drop offs.
