Fish were setup on gravel points leading to spawning areas. The fish were incredibly shallow (1-2’) and burning a trap was the best way to catch them. A cold front moving through may push them back some, but the first wave of the spawn is coming soon.

The upper bay is really in that full spawn and transitioning to post spawn face with water temps ranging from 62 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning to 67 after a full day of sun. When you can find the grass the bass are around and in it. Swan Creek and the Flats are the most consistent producers at the moment with moving baits playing a part when there is a wind and finesse techniques paying off when it slicks off. Of course this is the bay and a shallow flipping bait is always active, however it was tough to get any consist flipping bite going.
