The key was to find transitions with rock. Best producing baits were the flashy swimmer with a 5" swimbait and a big blade chatterbait.

Fishing a deep diving crank on points with hard bottom or boulders next to milfoil transitions is where those schools are bass are going to be concentrated on. The bass are heavily feeding on bluegill this time of the year as well, throwing bluegill patterns was a key detail to getting these fish to cooperate.

Walking a frog in open water over submerged vegetation. Worked it fast with a few pauses. Caught numbers and quality.

Huge schools of bluegills are concentrating out on deep weed edges. Find these schools and the bass are nearby. Toss anything that resembles a bluegill. Start with moving baits (chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, crankbaits, etc). If the bass arent cooperating, then slow down and try more finese presentations (ned rig, wacky senko, football jig, texas rigged worm, etc)
