Largemouth could be found feeding around offshore hard bottom areas. The areas with the biggest fish had some kind of rock or gravel present Areas near grass seem to do well also. Dragging a half ounce of ball jig through these areas very slowly got some quality bites.

Sometimes you have to hit this lake on the right day to catch the 4+ pounders but caught lots of 3 pounders and some 4 pounders. I caught all my fish dragging a 5/8-3/4 ounce Steath fieder jig across the rock piles also catching some on the rocks with the thickest weeds overall good day.

Though it was a hot day on the water the bass could be found in submerged grass in 8-10' of water. I had a Zman jack hammer (Brett's gill) with a 3' Zman minnowz trailer (in green pumpkin). I used to lose nearly half of the bass that hit my chatter bait until I changed rods. The Saint Croix mojo bass in 7' med hvy moderate action, gives me the back bone for a good hook set without pulling it out of their mouth plus the added flexibility of the moderate action gives me more flexibility to keep the line tight on the fish until I get it in the kayak. I paired a Abu Garica Revo SX in 7.5:1 gearing to give me the ability to keep up with a fish coming towards me.
