Water temp in August can get into the high 70's. Finding the right vegetation with your favorite Texas rig is key. Pads and foil both will produce fish. A dropshot or finesse rig was also very productive on the edges of the weeds lines. Although not typically bigger ones bass can be caught under deeper docks

Frogs, frogs, frogs!!! Near shore or even mid lake shallow flats a frog is a great choice. Look for open pockets in thick vegetation or lilypads or just casting over shallow flats will work

Fish were spread out and we just covered water. TONS of pike mixed in. It was almost unbearable. Long pause mid way through the retrieve was key.
