      50°

Air temps were high 50s with low wind, 5-6mph. Water temps were a steady 50 degrees across the whole lake. Extremely clear right now, about 12-15ft visibility. Started off on my typical deep weed line spots with no luck on jerkbaits. Trolled around the basin for a bit too see if anything was out there and saw large schools of smaller fish in roughly 20-22fow on the graph. Tried drop shotting with a tiny Aberdeen hook and half of a 1in gulp to see if they were gills or perch. Nothing but nibbles when I tried to catch them. Pulled out of the basin and noticed lots of small bait fish cruising the shoreline, almost looked like fingerling bass or shiners or something, couldn't get close enough to see since they'd spook before I could get close. Majority of the weeds have died off so it's pretty barren around that depth but the bass seemed to be cruising around in the shallow water. Maybe chasing the bait fish, maybe warming up in the sun. Burned a lipless crank relatively fast at that depth around the lake and they seemed to be following that pattern on the entire lake. Hard or soft bottom, cover or not, it didn't seem to matter because as long as I fished that depth, they'd bite.

Night bite, 12-3am. I just follow the contour, anywhere between 20ft and 12ft is where they seem to hang out. Drag a shakeyhead and other bottom contact baits and they'll eat.

Lots of fish caught way out deep on spy baits. They weren't biting the usual jig, so I threw my spy bait in the same areas and got them to commit. I let it sink maybe 10-15ft and slooooow retrieved it.
