TechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassIt was a really hot day outside and all the fish were pushing back up into the shallow mats looking for shade. I was casting into the open pockets with a jackhammer and reeling it very close up to the surface. They would come out from the grass and eat it. We were on the very west side by the road.

Fan casting a soft senko and mixing in a frog for post spawn bass that are in attack mode. Belly weighted spark shad is also a great option and comes through the pad openings and lanes great.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFInd where the green cabbage meets the pencil reeds, they were stacked in the points and corners. Jackhammer with a speed craw did most of the damage, picked up a few more with a senko. Tons of fish, some places it would be 20-30 fish spots nearly coming on every cast.
