Fished a club tournament on Deep Creek Lake and caught largemouth, smallmouth, walleye, pickerel, and northern pike and a variety of soft plastics. The fish refused to touch moving baits of any kind, but they were perfectly happy eating Texas-, wacky-, ned-, and Carolina-rigged soft plastics, particularly Zoom Trick Worms in black. I went through several bags of them, thanks to the many toothy critters I caught. And, while the bass were few and far between, my co-angler and I had a blast catching several species of fish, including a 15lb northern pike. As I have most of this year, I rigged my Trick Worms on Mustad's Alpha Point Alpha-Grip Finesse hooks. These are amazing hooks - sharp, strong, and easy to rig with a snell knot.
