Panfish / BluegillTechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructureHumpsI had great luck in 30ft of water mid February. I was jigging 4mm jigs with plastics and live bait. Fish were lethargic but once you found the right color such as wonder bread or gold the fish woke up. When marking fish don't give up they will start biting late afternoon early evening.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueIce Fishing JigsSeasonIceStructureSubmerged VegetationPressure can be high out here in the winter, but decent panfish action can be had when looking for a quick afternoon out. Don't over look the breaklines and basin edges if the deep holes are full of people. Downsizing to small 3mm jigs and flies helped a lot last time out.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueBobbersSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationLight tackle was key. Water temps were freezing. Cast out and let it sit for a little bit then slow retrieve it in. 1/80th jigheads in orange, chartreuse and or pink worked best.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueBobbersSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureRiver ChannelsThe canal on Eagle lake just started producing. Lots of other anglers fishing the canal. Only managed a small bluegill and lost one big bite that almost took the rod out of my hands. Left of parking lot is where the crappies are mostly staged. Use bobbers and minnows or bobbers and small 1/32nd hair jigs. Air temp was 47 degrees and water was still a bit cold, felt around high 30’s maybe low 40’s. Need more warm up for more crappies to start coming in. Good sign is the sunnies are already coming in, so they crappie spawn should be happening soon as they are ready!

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksThe best fish came off of the end of docks, wacky rigging stickbaits. I also caught a few fish with a swim jig. Saw a few bass cruising in 2-3ft of water, but no beds yet.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureReedsLots of weeds/lily pads, not the biggest bass but still fun.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureReedsThis day was clear/sunny weather. The wind was 5-12mph and water visibility was around 10ft. I started out catching fish using a topwater popper along the shade line/shore/docks. As the wind picked up I started using a Texas rigged stickbait (weightless) on docks and reed edges. This produced the better quality fish.

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard Topwater (Prop)SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThrew the whopper plopper all around grasses and lilies. One pike hit it hard in about 2 feet of water. A bass tried to strike it in about the same place but missed. I also threw a wacky worm around docks with no luck,
