TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationCaught good numbers of fish but was only able to weigh in 5 keepers for 8.21 lbs. An 8+ pounder was weighed in by a competitor. Had to filter through the bites to find better fish. Offshore pepper grass was key using the skinny dipper on a 1/8 oz belly hook in 4/0 on 65 lb braid spiderwire.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureReedsGot 7 today, 1.63lbs was the best and most were 1.50lbs or so, one dink. Fishing along the reeds in about 4 feet of water. Pepper grass and reeds were the key as they were biting very close to the reeds or when it would clear the grass. Started with the Black/Blue before sun came up and then switched to the watermelon red flake before finishing up with the watermelon pearl. Got 3 on black, 2on watermelon red and 2 on watermelon pearl.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureRip RapStarted out to the left of the Lakefront Park along the reeds and picked up 2 little ones, so I moved over towards Fells Cove and got another small one from the reeds. They seemed to have moved out to deeper water, although I thought that with the rain we been having and the water temp down they would have been there early. So I went exploring over to A J Lake and found some in the riprap along the canal leading to the lake. Caught a few right along the shore, no more than 3 feet in, from about a hundred yards before the bridge down to the lake. Got one from under the second dock to the left in the lake but nothing else so I went back down the canal and picked up some more, same pattern, using a Get Hooked Magic Baits Heart Pounder, 7 and a quarter inch worm in Black and Blue. 13 in total, 3 on East Lake, and 1 on A J Lake with the rest from the canal.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureReedsCaught 7 small ones today, 1.45lbs was the best and the others were around 1lbs and up. Caught 2 on the Dinger in Black and Blue early and then the rest on the swim n dinger watermelon red flake. Had to fish going towards Fells Cove because the wind was too much for where I have been going, left out of Lakefront Park, and it was much calmer towards Fells Cove.
