I had a lot of success using wacky for largemouth in the late afternoon shadows, and drop-shot for smallmouth on the drop-offs. A 6" X-Zone stick lamintate with pink and green pumpkin was the trick, and the only color they'd regularly take. I use smaller #2 hooks and the only time I miss a set is when the plastic wraps itself around the hook.
