In the summer to fall transition it can be difficult to find fish. Although this isn't a river, there is flow and the areas between islands and other pinch points fish like channels. Many are still deep even when the air temps are cool. We were able to locate a couple smallies on topwater baits like Spook Jrs. There is a large hump in the middle of the lake. We weren't able to locate fish here but it did provide good structure and it's possible the changing fronts during our trips turned the fish off.
